Buttercream is a versatile and essential base for cake making! Use it as a creamy filling between cake layers to add delicious flavour and keep them firmly in place. Then, smooth the outside for a beautiful, flawless finish—perfect as a base for further decoration with sugar paste or sprinkles. The FunCakes Buttercream Mix is available in 500 g, 1 kg, 4 kg, and 10 kg packs, so you always have the right amount for your baking project!
- Mix 125 g FunCakes Buttercream Mix with 125 ml water and let it set at room temperature for at least 1 hour.
- Whip 150 g unsalted butter for about 5 minutes until creamy.
- Gradually add the buttercream mixture to the butter, mixing well after each addition.
- Optionally, add a flavour or colour paste of your choice.
- Mix everything for about 10 minutes until you achieve a smooth and fluffy buttercream.

Make your own ice cream cones with buttercream
- Prepare 300 g FunCakes Buttercream Mix as instructed on the packaging. Divide the buttercream into portions and colour them as desired using FunCakes Food Colour Gel. Save some green buttercream to stick the flowers on the ice creams and to pipe leaves.
- Cut squares of baking paper, approximately 4×4 cm. Prepare the piping bags with couplers.

Swiss Meringue buttercream
Swiss Meringue Buttercream is slightly less sweet than regular buttercream and is perfect for filling, coating, and decorating cakes and cupcakes. This buttercream contains egg white powder, which makes it lighter and less heavy. It is also easy to make yourself – just add water and butter, and you’re ready to go!
