Recipe of Valentine's Day drip cake

1

Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature. Preheat the oven to 175 °C (convection oven 160 °C).

2

Prepare 500 g FunCakes Mix for Sponge Cake Deluxe according to the instructions on the package. Divide the batter into 3 mixing bowls. Grease the Ø20 cm springform pan with the Bake Release spray and fill the pan 1/2 to 2/3 full. Bake the cakes in the preheated oven for approx. 30-35 minutes. Immediately after baking, remove the cakes from the springform and let the cake evaporate for an hour on a cooling grid.

Tip! Do not open the oven in the meantime! The cake is done when it feels bouncy.

3

Prepare 500 g of FunCakes Mix for Buttercream according to the instructions on the package. Divide the buttercream over 2 mixing bowls. Put the FunColours Gel Pink in 1 mixing bowl. To keep the color light, add 2 drops to the buttercream. This is the buttercream that will be visible on the outside of the cake.

4

When the cakes have cooled, cut the top of the cakes flat with a cake leveler. Also cut the edges of the cake to make sure that the sides are straight. Place the cake drum on a turntable and spread a little buttercream in the center.

Tip! Learn how to easily make a drip here.

5

Then you place the first biscuit on the cake drum. Put the white buttercream in a decorating bag with a round decorating tip and fill the top of the sponge cake with the buttercream. Gently smooth this with your palette knife. Put a little strawberry jam on top and spread it evenly over the buttercream. Do not spread the strawberry jam to the edges. Put the next biscuit on top and repeat the step.

Tip! Keep the remaining white buttercream. You can use this later for the filling of the macarons.

6

Spread the pink buttercream over the side of the biscuits with a straight palette knife. Start with a little bit of buttercream and build this up in one or two layers. Put the biscuits in the fridge every now and then between layers. Then cover the entire cake with buttercream and place it in the fridge for an hour. To smooth the cake, use a dough scraper while turning the cake.

7

Heat the Deco Melts in the microwave as indicated on the packaging. Put the Deco Melts in a decorating bag and cut a small tip off. Make the drip along the side of the cake and then cover the top with the remaining Deco Melts.

8

Preheat the oven to 140 °C (convection oven 130 °C).

9

Prepare 150 g FunCakes Mix for Macarons according to the instructions on the package and add 1 or 2 drops of food colouring. Spoon the mix into a decorating bag and pipe rounds on a baking tray lined with parchment paper or on a macaron mat. Let them rest for a while (at least 30 minutes) and then bake them in the oven for 15-20 minutes.

Tip! If you don’t have a macaron mat, use a small glass and draw circles on the parchment paper.

10

Use the white buttercream that was left over for the filling of the macarons. Squeeze 4 fresh strawberries through a sieve and collect the juice. Fold the juice into the buttercream. When the macarons have cooled, put the buttercream in a piping bag and pipe it on the macarons.

11

Heat the frying pan to 180 °C or the oven to 200 °C (convection oven 180 °C).

12

Prepare 167 g of FunCakes Mix for Delicious Donuts according to the instructions on the package. The quantity has been divided by three. Roll out the dough to a thickness of approx. 5 mm. Cut out the donut moulds and let rest for 25 minutes.

Tip! For best results, prepare the donuts in the fryer.

13

For the frying pan: fry the donuts golden yellow in about 90 seconds per side. For the oven: place the donuts in the donut tin and bake them golden yellow in approx. 12 minutes.

14

Meanwhile, prepare the Dip ‘n Drip according to the instructions on the package. Mix in a drop of food colouring and dip the donuts in the Dip ‘n Drip. Then immediately sprinkle the Sprinkle Medley Love on top.

15

Put the remaining pink buttercream in a decorating bag with decorating tip #1M and use this to secure the decorations on top of the cake. Decorate with the macarons, donuts and strawberries.
