Citric Acid
Citric Acid is often used as a natural preservative in food products and for the sour taste in for example soft drinks. In baking and cake decorating, it is specifically used to make royal icing less sweet. To do so, add a pinch of citric acid to 500 g icing sugar and finish the royal icing according to your usual recipe.
