Recipe of Happy Bee-day cupcakes

1

Prepare the bees, honey combs and letters a day in advance, so they’ve got time to dry well. For the bees you have to colour almost all modelling paste with the yellow and orange colouring to get the right colour for the bees. Keep a little piece of the modelling paste white. Make ovals of the yellow modelling paste. Roll out the black fondant very thinly and cut small strips using the cutting wheel, which you attach to the bees with some edible glue. Draw eyes and a mouth with the black edible brush. Roll out the white modelling paste thinly and cut out rose leafs, as many as you have bees. Squeeze the ends together and glue them on the bees.

2

Now roll out the yellow fondant a bit thicker than before and cut out the letters.

3

For the honey combs devide the remaining modelling paste in 3 portions and colour these in 3 different shades of yellow with the yellow and orange colouring. Roll the coloured modeling paste out very thinly and cut out mini hexagons. Glue the hexagons on top of a piece of modelling paste in your desired shape and mix the Sunset Yellow Dust and the Milk Chocolate Dust. Give the edges of all hexagons and letters a bit of extra colour.

4

Preheat the oven to 180°C (convection oven 160°C).

5

Prepare 500 grams of FunCakes Mix for Cupcakes as indicated on the package. Place the baking cups in the muffin pan and divide the batter into the baking cups to half fill the cups. Bake the cakes for 18-20 minutes until golden yellow and take them out of the muffin pan. Let them cool down completely on the kitchen counter.

6

Prepare 200 grams of FunCakes Mix for Buttercream as described on the package. Flavour the buttercream to taste with the mandarin flavour paste and give it the same colour of yellow as the modelling paste. Place tip #2A in the decorating bag and fill the bag with the cream.

7

Make toppings on the cupcakes. Start at the edge and work your way up into the centre. Decorate the cupcakes with the honey combs, bees and letters.
