For the advanced among us

Make a dahlia

• For the dahlia, you will need decorating tip #012 and #081.
• Using a little buttercream, stick some parchment paper on the flower nail.
• Using #012, swirl a round cap. With #081 go around the whole cap with small leaves. You put the tip against the buttercream cap and you spray and draw at the same time a small leave. These leaves are about 1 cm long. First finish the entire bottom edge with leaves by placing your tip “lying down” on your flower nail.
• Then move your tip up a little straighter and swirl some more small leaves. Complete your round each time and then start in the middle again until you have filled the entire buttercream cap with leaves.
• Carefully remove it with the parchment paper from the flower nail and place on a plate.

Just a little extra

Make leaves to go with the flowers

• For the leaves, you will need decorating tip #352.
• Using a little buttercream, stick some parchment paper on the flower nail.
• Put the tip down like a bird beak (>), swirl and at the same time pull the decorating bag backwards. This way you will get a small tight leaf.
• If you want a ribbed leaf, spray and pull with a pushing motion.
