Prepare 500 g FunCakes Mix for Donuts as indicated on the package. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured work surface to a thickness of 5 mm and cut out donut shapes. Place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and cover with a clean, ironed tea towel. Let them rest for 25 minutes.
Meanwhile, heat the deep fryer with sunflower oil to 180°C and pour the fine granulated sugar into a wide bowl.
Fry the donuts two at a time for about 90 seconds per side until they are lightly golden brown. Let them drain slightly on kitchen paper and coat one side with granulated sugar.
The small dough rounds left over when cutting out donuts can also be fried and then sprinkled with powdered sugar or rolled in fine granulated sugar with cinnamon. This way, you can easily create a delicious platter full of mini donuts as an extra treat.
Divide the FunCakes Dip ’n Drip White into three bowls. Color one bowl using the FunCakes Food Colour Paste Pink and FunCakes Food Colour Paste Ivory. Leave the third bowl white.
Heat one bowl at a time in the microwave for about 10 seconds until it becomes slightly more fluid. Do not overheat, or the Dip ’n Drip will crystallize! Put it into a decorating bag and cut a small tip.
Drizzle the Dip ’n Drip over the unsugared side of the donut and immediately decorate each donut with the FunCakes Metallic Sugar Rods, FunCakes Crispy Choco Pearls, FunCakes Nonpareils Gold FunCakes Sugar Decoration, FunCakes White Blossom, FunCakes Mini Hearts FunCakes and FunCakes Sugar Decoration Heart Pink. If you wait too long, the sprinkles won’t stick anymore, so decorate one donut at a time.
For a larger batch of donuts, simply double or triple the ingredients. However, it’s best to prepare them in separate batches, as some mixers may not handle large quantities well.
