Recipe of Flower cookies with fondant

1

Baking the cookies

Prepare 500 g FunCakes Mix for Cookies as indicated on the packaging. Wrap the dough in cling film and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.

2

Preheat the oven to 180°C (convection oven 160°C).

3

Knead the dough from the refrigerator until smooth and roll it out on a work surface dusted with FunCakes Magic Roll-Out Powder to a thickness of 2-3 mm and cut out different flower shapes. Place these on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake the cookies for about 10-13 minutes until fully baked. Leave the cookies to cool completely on the work surface.

Depending on the thickness of the dough, it sometimes needs to be in the oven a little longer.

4

Making the fondant decorations

Knead the FunCakes Fondant until smooth and roll it out thinly on a work surface dusted with FunCakes Icing Sugar. Cut out enough flower shapes to match the number of cookies

5

Heat the jar of apricot jam in the microwave and press it through a sieve using the back of a spoon. This will create an apricot glaze to brush onto the cookies. Brush the cookies with the glaze, then place the fondant on top.

Tip! You can also use FunCakes Edible Glue to stick the fondant to the cookies

For the daisy-shaped cookies, roll a small piece of fondant into a ball and flatten it slightly. Cover it completely with FunCakes Nonpareils Yellow using some FunCakes Edible Glue and place it in the centre of each daisy.

7

For the remaining cookies, roll thin strips of fondant in the same colour as the fondant on the cookie, use these strips to add details to the cookies. Attach them with some edible glue around the edges of the cookie or extending outwards from the centre of the flower. Next, roll small balls of FunCakes Fondant Pastel Yellow and attach a few FunCakes Nonpareils Orange using edible glue. Place these in the centre of the cookies.

8

To add even more detail, shape small pieces of fondant in the same colour as the cookie into teardrop shapes using a knife & scriber tool. Attatch them around the yellow centres with the edible glue.
