Rezept von Skull cake with raspberry buttercream

1

Preheat the oven to 180°C  (convection oven 160°C) and grease the baking pans with baking spray.

2

Prepare 330 g FunCakes Mix for Sponge Cake Deluxe as indicated on the packaging. Divide the batter between the two baking pans and bake the sponge cakes for approximately 30-35 minutes until fully baked. Turn them out onto a cooling rack immediately after baking and leave to cool completely.

Tip! Only have 1 baking pan? Then bake the sponge cakes in two batches.

3

Prepare 200 g FunCakes Mix for Buttercream as indicated on the packaging. Flavour the buttercream with the FunCakes Flavour Paste Raspberry.

4

Separately melt the FunCakes Deco Melts Raspberry and Deco Melts Orange according to the instructions on the packaging. Put them into decorating bags and fill the skull moulds halfway with the Deco Melts. Leave them to set in the fridge. Repeat this process until you have enough skulls to cover the cake.

Tip! Made too many skulls? No problem! Simply place them back into the Deco Melts packaging so you can melt and reuse them another time.

5

Using a cake leveller, cut both sponge cakes twice so you end up with four layers. Fill, stack and cover the cake with the raspberry buttercream. Do not cover the top of the cake with buttercream.

6

Prepare 75 g FunCakes Mix for Enchanted Cream® as indicated on the packaging, using only 100 ml milk. Spread part of the cream over the top of the cake and place the remaining cream into a decorating bag fitted with decorating tip #1M.

7

Cover the sides of the cake with the skulls. Press a green pearl in between some of the skulls here and there. Pipe a decorative border on top of the cake using the Enchanted Cream® and decorating tip #1M. Finish the swirls with Wilton Choco Crunch Pearls Spicy Halloween and the Wilton 4-in-1 Sprinkle Mix Spooky Halloween.
