


Chicken cookies

- 450 g FunCakes Mix for Royal Icing

- 150 g unsalted butter
- 55 ml water
- 1 egg (approx. 50g)

Prepare 500 g FunCakes Mix for Cookies as indicated on the package. Wrap the dough in cling film and chill it in the refrigerator for one hour.
Preheat the oven to 180°C (convection oven 160°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Knead the chilled dough until smooth, then roll it out on a floured surface to a thickness of 2-3 mm. Cut out large circles, chickens (remove the legs), and small eggs by reshaping a round cutter into an egg shape. Place the cookies on the baking tray and bake for 9-12 minutes until lightly golden. Let them cool completely.
Prepare 450 g FunCakes Mix for Royal Icing as indicated on the package. Thin 2/3 of the icing to a yogurt-like consistency by adding water drop by drop. Colour the remaining 1/3 of the icing (firm consistency) brown with a gel colour.
Colour a portion of the thinned icing green and fill a decorating bag with an adaptor and decorating tip #002. Use this to fill the round cookies and let them dry. Fill another decorating bag with white thinned icing and decorating tip #002 fill the chicken cookies. Let these dry as well.
Colour a small amount of thinned icing yellow and fill half of the small eggs with yellow icing. Then fill the other half with white icing and let dry. Once the chickens have dried, add wings and eyes using icing. Colour a small amount of icing red and use it to create the comb, wattles, and beaks. Use a needle tool to position everything neatly.
When the cookies are completely dry, finish the eyes with a black food pen. Pipe a nest onto the green cookies using the brown icing and decorating tip #233. Stand the chickens upright in the nest and attach the chicks next to them.
