A new, more sustainable package for FunCakes flavour pastes and baking essentials
Sustainability is a top priority at FunCakes. Reducing material usage and improving the reusability of packaging play an important role in this. That’s why some of the jars are being updated to a more sustainable packaging design. The change will first be implemented for the flavour pastes and baking essentials. The sprinkles and other product categories will follow afterward. On average, this change will reduce plastic use by 5.2 g per jar, a 20% decrease in plastic annually!
What’s changing?
The jars for flavour pastes and baking essentials are getting a new design. These new “slim line” style jars are developed with sustainability in mind and offer several benefits:
- Less plastic per jar.
- Made from mono-materials (PET jar, PP lid), which greatly improves recyclability.
- More slender jars, allowing for more efficient use of packaging materials, meaning less wasted space between jars in the outer pack and on the shelf.
- The new jars are not only more sustainable, but also feature a modern and sleek new look, with the same recognizable pink cap.
When will the jars change?
From now on, the jars will be gradually updated as current stock runs out. Everything about the product remains the same, outer pack quantity, product quantity and price, article number (SKU) and EAN codes remain unchanged, but the look and feel of the product will offer a completely new experience. Thanks to this packaging adjustment, plastic usage will be reduced by 20% per year and recyclability will improve. A great step forward in terms of sustainability!
